Pricing structure for Nordic Walking 


Pay as you go:

£5.00 per hour class with your own suitable poles
£6.00 per hour without poles
An extra £1 is payable at Kedleston Park if you are a non-member of The National Trust.


Block Discount:

£50 (buy 10 get 2 free) saving £10 with your own suitable Poles
£60 (buy 10 get 2 free) saving £12 poles provided

Description of Walks:


Wellness walks

ideal for those with concerns about either distance or pace, these gentle walks will be just what you need to build up your confidence and improve your health.


Active Walks

Generally about 1 hour long and designed to help you keep improving and getting noticeable results.


Adventure Walks

More about the location, slightly longer in length and all about the social aspect, often we will stop afterwards for refreshments, a cuppa or something stronger!


Nordic Walking - Learn to Nordic Walk

A unique structured teaching programme of four one hour sessions that will help you to master the basics and be able to competently Nordic Walk on your own or join into group walks all over the UK. It will help you not only master the technique but to understand which muscles are working and whats going on inside your body! The course will help you to understand your current level of fitness and empower you to get out and get the results you want from Nordic Walking.


Classes run in Derbyshire school term time, look out for Adventure walks in the holidays and weekends or contact me as often running extra walks. Hire me for Birthday parties/celebrations or business team building walks. Please contact me for details. For course dates see News and Updates.

Directions for Mappleton DE6 2AB:
can be approached from Ashbourne via Mappleton Rd and the playing fields are located on your left just as entering the village or via Birdsgrove Lane through Okeover Estate off the A52 on Swinscoe Hill turning right, over the bridge and right again passing The Okeover Arms – continue straight and the playing fields are sharp right.

Directions for Mayfield Yarns:
off Watery Lane, Clifton DE6 2LH – (Do not follow sat nav for postcode directions as we meet on the other side of the Mill) can be only approached via Watery Lane just off the A52 Mayfield Rd turning left towards Clifton. Take your first right onto a lane which will take you to the Mill, carry on this lane until you approach a parking space on your left just before the houses. Or approach from Clifton along Cock Hill turning right onto Watery Lane and left after Sides Lane towards the Mill continue along as above.

Directions to Hognaston DE6 1PR:
The village Hall car park we have permission to park here, please note that the gate must be closed after the last person. Hognaston is reached from Ashbourne along the B5035 through Kniveton or from Hulland Ward turning onto Dog Lane towards Carsington Water but carrying straight through onto Turlowfields Lane and then Stonepit Lane in Hognaston, The car park is located on your left from this direction or right from the Ashbourne direction.

Directions for Kedleston Park
DE22 5JH:
can be approached from Kedleston Rd either from Weston Underwood direction or from Allestree/Quarndon, Derby. We use the village gates, turn off Kedleston Rd by the white Coach House on the corner of Mercaston Lane passed the main gates if coming from Derby. The village gates are on your left and will be locked until 10am, to unlock and entre the park you must press the automated button on the right hand side.

Directions for Allestree Park  DE22 2HF:
can be located from either Quarndon or Allestree. From Quarndon if travelling from Derby direction, follow Church Lane through the village, continue past the Village Hall and school onto Burley Lane. Take a right turning onto Woodlands Lane and continue along this, going past the water tower until you reach the car park on your left.

From Allestree from Kedleston Rd there are a number of options depending on which direction you are coming from. Either  take Askerfield Ave, left at the top onto Blenheim Drive and left after the shops and before the Portland School onto Woodlands Rd  and it is approximately 3/4 mile further along Woodlands Road as you head north, away from Allestree towards Quarndon and onto Woodlands Lane on your right.  Or, take Allestree Lane of Kedleston Rd, past the Park Farm shopping centre continuing along until you reach Portlands School and Woodland Rd is just on the right, then follow the above.
