| One class will be running throughout the summer holidays on a Wednesday at Kedleston Park, Derby @ 8.30am. These are for all levels of walkers i.e. Wellness and Active but you must have been out with me previously. Kedleston Park - Monday August 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th @ 10am Throughout May, June and July - Monday evening walks through Osmaston Park, please contact me to find out more and to join us on these lovely evening walks with a refreshing drink at the Saracens Head afterwards. Adventure Walks - More about the location, slightly longer in length and all about the social aspect )often we will stop afterwards for refreshments, a cuppa or something stronger!
DATES FOR THE DIARY 2010: Saturday Feb 27th Carsington village, Brassington, High Peak Trail, Hopton, Derbyshire 6-miles A walk leading you through the historic village of Brassington, then a steady ascent to strikingly weathered limestone outcrops at Harborough where there are superb views in all directions. Heading back to Carsington Pastures before crossing undulating fields and back to Hopton via a very pretty wooded minor road. Hopton Hall will be open to view acres of woodlands covered with Snowdrops (£4 per person), optional after Lunch. Lunch-Miners Arms, Carsington village. Level intermediate, many stiles some very narrow, gradual ascents and some steeper areas. Alstonefield, Beresford Dale, Wolfscote Dale, Staffs 6-miles Starting from Alstonefield the walk heads in a northerly direction to Narrowdale and then towards Beresford Dale. Taking in some delightful views as approaching the river Dove, along Wolfscote Dale before climbing out of the valley to Alstonefield and returning across the limestone hill country which surrounds the Dove valley. Lunch-The George Inn, Alstonefield. Level Easy, one steep ascent.
Saturday – May 29th Longnor, Pilsbury, Crowdecote 6.5 miles Postponed until July 3rd
Longnor, Pilsbury, Crowdecote 6.5 miles The walk starts in the ancient market town of Longnor, heading south towards Sheen with the river Manifold below us. It then takes us down to Pilsbury with changing geology as we approach the river Dove. It then passes by the Pilsbury Castle hills which probably date back to the late 11th or early 12th century. It heads back via Crowdecote, an medieval crossing point of the Dove and back to Longnor. A delightful walk, Level-easy with one steep rock track descent into Pilsbury. Also quite a few tricky stiles in the early part of the walk. Lunch-TBC
